What I did was I have a bunch of necklaces and I have a couple of omegas and I use the slides instead of having to bring multiple necklaces jewelry is the one thing I tend to overpack and this last trip I way over did it on the jewelry. When I pack for Mary Kay conventions the hardest thing is packing the heels they are the hardest shoes to pack when you have to fly for business male travelers is when I fly I bring one black jacket a couple of black skirts and a couple of white blouses depending on the number of days we are away and that way I don't have to bring a whole bunch of different outfits for daytime meetings

I had a question for packing supplements and vitamins that aren't prescription. I usually buy all of my supplements and my vitamins in bulk so to bring the original containers would be very happy. What is your recommendation for those kinds of supplements

Question: I see travelers attaching a neck pillow to the outside of their backpack personal item at the airport. I'd like to do this with my memory foam seat cushion. Do you think this would be allowed, or is the cushion too big? TIA!

I wear my bulkiest items on the plane. I wear my thin hoodie and then a heavier jacket over it. I wear my sneakers on the plane and pack 1 pair of sandals and a dressier pair if needed in my suitcase. This way, the bulkier items don't take up a lot of room. I pack thin, lightweight tops. If it gets cool outside, I can add layers.

Hi Laurie, I absolutely love your videos. I live in Kenya, but have roots in Europe and travel a lot. One thing I can't recommend are the wheel covers. I got them for my hand luggage and quickly lost two of them. I will be traveling to Oman, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa for slightly more than a month with only hand luggage and a small rucksack. Hopefully, all goes well.😊

I would be somewhat wary of the water in some countries. If you shouldn't drink the water in that country then you should get yourself purified or other bottled water for your CPAP machine. Distilled water is used mainly because of all of the minerals and other things in the water. It will not hurt the machine to use bottled water for a short period.

What is with the apparent obsession with umbrellas? I have seen several travel channels which seem to think it's important.
Surely, a good quality light raincoat would suffice.🤷

Love your blog, Laurie! We found you can buy distilled water cheap at any store that sells auto batteries (they usually sell car tires, too) – After searching all over the city for pharmacies.
I gave up on finding a dual-voltage curling iron and just bought one in Europe (220v and local plug type).
My biggest problem is resisting the temptation to bring extra "just in case" stuff (makeup, clothes, personal items). My new philosophy is to bring extra Money to buy something if I really need it – and I usually don't.
Have you ever come back from a vacation having used every single thing you took with you?
    Me neither!

Any special tips about Greece? I have a Cpap and assumed I could carry it on without issues like other places but I’m 3 days away from departure and my husband checked online and they say I have to have a doctors note for the Cpap! So now I’m stressed. I’m hoping it can just count as my 1 year olds handbag since we bought her a seat. Wish me luck! Hopefully they don’t check

If you are traveling with small children take more clothing than you would for an adult, because it's amazing how grubby they can get in one day of sightseeing. My daughter and I are very light packers, but a few extra items on a summer trip through Portugal and Spain would have saved having to hand wash her children's clothes pretty much every night. (We bought a cute souvenir t-shirt for her three yr old after he pitched head first into a fountain. He was unhurt but chilly as it was approaching nightfall.)

I’ve gotten to the adventure traveler place where I only take a “personal item” with meds, charger, pj’s and one change of clothes…maybe. I find that “shopping is always a fun part of my travel plan and so I have a new outfit in no time. Also I know what to buy according to the weather at my destination. It’s been working. Makes travel easy breezy.

We go to a laundry about every 10 days, sit and have coffee and read the paper. Takes about 90 minutes and costs less than $20 for 2 of us. So much better for clean undies and socks.

I travelled with a big suitcase once and decided, never again. Since then, I managed to do several trips with only hand luggage. Most recently, I did a 5-week international trip with only hand luggage. My clothes were such that it was its own capsule wardrobe, so I mixed and matched and wore my clothes more than once. I did laundry twice during the trip, but I'll much rather do laundry than struggling with a big suitcase again. 😅
