Who cares ?
Small (250 to 800 ccm) is beautiful, fun and AFFORDABLE !
Versys ?
A shaftdrive (other than 36k mile maintenance adv bike) requires less maintenance than a chain chain drive.

Sucks that features like cruise control are often left to the bigger bikes. I would really like a VStrom 800DE rather than the 1050. It's just better at what I want to do but really want CC for long trips.
Gotta be the Ducati or the Africa Twin if you want to be noticed. I have the later here in Cape Town! Love it!
Ducati for me. If I had to upgrade I would go for a Pikes peak or a Rally. I ride a 2018 Multi 1200 enduro at the mo and it does everything I want it to do. I've had it from new, bought in 2019 with over nearly £5000 off the original price. It's an amazing bike.
No thanks Gs 1300, Super Tenere parked in the garage… 450 all terrain much easier to maneuver around sand and mud…
These bikes are massively expensive compared to capable mid range adventure bikes – 750- 900cc.
Been owner of a 2020 ktm super adventure since 2021…. been driving motorcycles for a while…best fun factor i have ever experienced. No problems what so ever. Only bike i would give a try could maybe be the duc since it has a little bit more hp. I used to be a hayabusa rider, for your perspective.
If you want a hyper sport bike, long range Tourer and also a bike that can handle a bit off road.
Just pick the Multistrada V4
Yamaha tracer 9gt +
BMW r 1300 gs
Bmw really lost my interest. The r1300gs is made for old dudes thst want to tell you how they "traveled the world" when they were younger
Light is right. Skip the big bike.
I just bought one of those fire sale 2024 KTM's. I already have an older 2020 1250GSA, and have some smaller displacement bikes… I have promised to get rid of something, just not quite decided which bike to sell, because having four adventure bikes, is a bit much.
Vstrom hands down. Job done.
I have a question. I've been riding for forty years with the last twenty on XR650R, EXC500, and a GXSR. I usually trailer the bike when I go camping. Now I want to take only the bike when camping and plan on making a new purchase next winter. I live in Montana, so I need something that will fly down the highway and hit the switchbacks with camping gear tied on. Then I'll need to be light enough after shedding gear to ride really rough SxS trails. I've been looking at Africa Twin (heavy), Tenere (freeway 👎)and possibly the BMW F900 ($$$). I'm 6'2" in American talk. I don't know how many stones that is. 😂
Any suggestions what I should be looking at?
I really can't help feeling that the Multistrada would benefit hugely from Ducati just dropping the off-road pretence and making it into a proper sport-tourer; I have never seen anyone take a Ducati off road so I can't help feeling that the potential greatness of the Multistrada is being held back.
If they swapped the front wheel for a 17-incher, lowered the exhaust so you get a proper pannier on the right-hand side (it would look better too), and then shortened the suspension a bit I think you'd have one of the best bikes out there.
The Ducati Multistrada is a adv bike? I thought it was a sports tourer like the S1000xr
HD PAN is a Big Joke…..HD Period is a JOKE
why would anyone buy american? they will not honor any contract
The Africa Twin, horsepower doesn't win off road.🏁
None off the above.
BMW G 1300 Adventure … !!!
Ducati desert X
I got the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2024. Love it! Traded in my 1200GSA. It's on YouTube on my channel: http://www.youtube.com/@MyLifeV1bes review, upgrades and opinions etc. KTM decision really depends on your local dealer support. They are actually the ones making the difference.
Mmmm KTM backlog of unsold bikes. No one has mentioned whether or not the unsold road versions are Euro 5+. Are they therefore Euro legal?
I still absolutely love my 21 Pan America. The only issue is broken exhaust bracket. Covered under warranty.
Comfortable, decent on fuel .
Would buy another one.
The price point of the 2024 Pan America CVO made sense, so I bought one. Controversial or not in this segment, there really is no arguing with the convenience of the dealership network. Despite some of the top down corporate nonsense, I have found the Parts and Service personnel at each of the dealerships near me in Southeast MI to be honest, proud (for good reason) experts who care about keeping their customers. I hear the stories, but it hasn’t been part of my experience.
I drop my bikes too often to want anything 500# plus. Getting old and I dislike picking them up.
Moving downward from the litre-plus bikes. Loved them but my back didn’t.
Old man armchairs.
What about the Husky 901 Norden Expedition?
That's the video, needed more like this
All outstanding bikes. But if speed is not one of your main criteria, then a mid size (600-800cc) adventure travel bike would be a better option…
The Africa Twin smokes them all by being the only nimble adventure, not just some tourer with an offroad tires
Yes the Stelvio is one that cannot be overlooked. Some very nice bikes there, but my experience with an R80 GS and an R100GS, has taught me that shaft drive is indispensable. At the end of the day, adjusting chains is a chore I can well do with out.
As an owner of a HD PAS 21 they are a pretty good ride. Comfort and wind protection are good and the fuel range with the ridiculous amount of power and torque was hard to go past, although I always wanted to buy Honda AT but the dct and narrow colour spec in Australia is a deterrent personally. Although the AT still makes my heart a flutter. 😮😎🤣🤣🤣🤣
Given the pitch for this video the new 2025 Versys belongs in here
My choice would be the tiger or mulitistrader
Yamaha Tenere 1200. Road and dirt roads, True adventure bike and great reliability.
The other question I think is for touring, shaft vs chain 🤔
It's the honda for me, the one question I do have is "why do they all have to be so bloody ugly"?
I’m still rockin’ a 2016 Vstrom 1000 all farkled-out!
On the KTM front I’m waiting for the 1390 to hit the dealers. For me the 1290 looks dated.
I got the Harley, it’s fantastic.
Doesn't anybody realize that these bikes are all preposterous, in size, weight, and price?
I've had a '23 Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer for two years now. I absolutely love it. Loads of power and comfort. Heading to Cape Scott BC with it in a few weeks. 🤙
You see what Bob has done here, he chooses the bikes he wants, who buy the poverty pick bike? But why not the top of the price range? Or what you think
99% of the Time these heavy pricey bikes will be ridden on road…they are just selling feelings
For a true off roader bike it should be light, simple, reliable
Yamaha T7 is is the closest to that ..
